Introduction
Art is a reflection of our society. It informs and engages us and is central to our culture's past and present. We deciphered our ancestors' history from their drawings. Yet, oddly enough, most children in public schools have little, if no exposure to art throughout their school years. Visual arts education, music, theater, and dance are not a part of the Egyptian curriculum. More and more, however, research is proving that arts are central to life long learning. According to a document published by UNESCO, "…….arts education encourages attention to perception and expression and contributes to the building of language and communication skills, critical thinking, time management and problem solving skills. ….. In society, the arts play an essential role in social and development issues.
